A Simple and Sweet Santa Rosa Wedding

A Simple and Sweet Santa Rosa Wedding

Shane and Leah Kunkle said "I Do" on May 28th in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Hyatt Creek Vineyard Hotel and Spa in Santa Rosa, CA. Their wedding was a reflection of their personalities - whimsical and sweet. The theme - "Love Birds" which you can clearly see was a perfect match for this adorable couple.

The flowers were a combination of lavender, purple lisianthus, seeded eucalyptus, white roses, greens and cream colored snap dragons. A truly whimsical and romantic combination.

The Bride choose a color palette of medium toned grays, dusty purple and a dusty blue which accented their lush green ceremony setting beautifully. She hand crafted much of their wedding decorations herself from the custom painted bird cages to the bridesmaid's hair pieces. She even made a CD as a favor for her guests with songs that were a part of their wedding day and songs that meant something to their relationship. Her favorite crafted detail though was the chalk board that she painted, took photos with and then used in their thank you cards. I have to agree this was a super cute idea!

When asked what's one piece of advise she could pass on to other Brides-to-be she said: "It will all work out. For months before our wedding I had made it very clear that I did not want to have the ceremony or reception indoors. Our venue was gorgeous but the carpet did not match my color scheme and that was a big no-no for me. On the day of our wedding, it rained. May 28th...I thought that was a safe date but apparently not. I could see it in two of my bridesmaids eyes- they were setting the ceremony up indoors! I didn't panic, but I did get pretty bummed out. About 15 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to begin, the rained completely stopped and the sun came out! Later I heard that my husband and our groomsmen took one look at the sun and ran out to set up the chairs outside and wipe down the chairs that had been rained on. It was perfect. The rained stayed away long enough to take ALL of our pictures as well! We did have the reception indoors but at that point I wasn't paying attention to carpet, I was just happy to be married."
